Company marks 20 years of service to Greater Lafayette and surrounding community businesses.
West Lafayette-based Business System Solutions, a leading provider of technology solutions and services to community businesses, is celebrating its 20th anniversary of operations in September. Two decades of experience have transformed Business System Solutions (BSS) from a startup two man break-fix service provider into a successful company that develops innovative technical solutions and manages all aspects of technology for local businesses.
With a Purdue degree in business and economics and over ten years of previous experience, Bill Ooms founded PC Solutions in 1995. As they experienced successful growth and expansion they incorporated and began as Business System Solutions, Inc. in 1998. Beginning in 2008, BSS moved from being a break-fix type of service agency to a full service IT Company offering a complete solution for small businesses. They have gained a strong reputation of client satisfaction by providing quality service backed by exceptional customer service.
“The first 6 months in business we worked out of a room at our house and would fix anything our clients called about when it broke,” Ooms said. “Today, we provide a proactive managed service where we are the IT department for small businesses and our goal is to see issues before the client notices and to keep things in tip top shape so they don’t break! We now have a building in West Lafayette with 9 team members, and a location in Kokomo with an additional 3 team members.”
Looking back at the last 20 years Ooms reflected, “Developing relationships with our clients over the years and providing solutions has been a great experience. I enjoy developing my business to provide better processes so we can be more efficient and provide better support and technology for our clients.” As for the future, he continued, “We see BSS being the IT partner for small businesses that provides the best customer service and IT solutions that meets their business needs. We continue to expand our IT solutions, such as VoIP, and our expertise as technology experts to help manage, support, and train our clients to utilize their IT in the success of each of their businesses.”
Business System Solutions will be holding a 20 year anniversary celebration open house on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 11:00am-5:00pm. A ribbon cutting ceremony with the Greater Lafayette Commerce will be held at 1:00pm. All are invited to stop by and learn more about the company and enjoy lunch, snacks, games, and prizes.
